The Iridium Connected® Telematics Solution combines a Teltonika GPS tracker and an Iridium Edge® modem to communicate with Iridium® satellites via Iridium Short Burst Data® (SBD®) service and cellular network if satellite network is not required.
The solution allows transferring data to a server via the Iridium satellite network when other terrestrial networks are unavailable. Thus, Iridium Edge only sends data when the GPS tracker is unable to connect to the mobile network.
The combined features of the solution create outstanding connectivity for vehicles and teams operating remotely, improving safety and fleet efficiency. It is particularly useful for remote operations and distant team management.
Teltonika trackers provide cellular connectivity, while Iridium Edge extends tracker functionality to areas without cellular coverage. This provides absolute worldwide coverage and ensures reliable data transmission.
